Founder & Clinic Director
Dr. Byoungjin Na’s journey into medicine started with a detour. Originally from Korea, he studied social sciences with a deep interest in public health — until a year in Vancouver changed everything. Introduced to acupuncture and herbal medicine through a family member who was a Korean Medicine Doctor, he found himself drawn to something more immediate: the health of the person sitting right in front of you.
That shift felt natural. Dr. Na had trained at one of Korea’s oldest universities, where classical Eastern thought was part of everyday academic life. When he began studying TCM, the foundations came easily — but what stuck with him was how often the medicine was being misrepresented in translation, both literally and culturally. Bridging that gap became a quiet mission.
He earned his credentials as a Registered Acupuncturist, Herbalist, and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and in 2007 founded GreenLeaf Acupuncture & Herb Clinic in Vancouver. Over nearly 20 years and more than 11,000 patients, he has developed strong clinical expertise in pain management, mental health, digestive health, gynecology, and dermatology. His own personal experience with infertility deepened his commitment to reproductive health — an area where he continues to invest significant clinical and research focus.
Dr. Na is also a dedicated educator, having taught at PCU College of Holistic Medicine and currently leading a continuing education series for practicing TCM clinicians. For him, East Asian medicine is not a relic to be preserved — it is a living, evolving system of care that meets patients exactly where they are today.
